Almost off the Grid

“When you sit, just sit…quietly and wholeheartedly” is a well-known Buddhist refrain from across centuries.

When a friend came to visit our home on a dirt road in White Mountains of New Hampshire his greeting was, “Do you get cell phone coverage here?”  I admit to not quite knowing what to say in response.

“Welcome to almost-off-the-grid.”  Or “C’mon in.  Visit, sleep here, eat with us, relax. …chill bro.”

Would that be too simple?  Obvious? Boring? Rude?  Does everything have to have an agenda combined with multi-tasking?
