It’s the Economy Stupid

A dirt road leading to a cabin north of Braine...

Across the dirt road in front of our home there sits an old, green two-story cabin that’s vacant most of the year. Generally the property serves as a safe, peaceful grazing area for the locals:  deer, turkey, squirrels and birds.  When they’re done with dinner they frequently meander over to the local watering hole: the bright, clear spring that runs in the back.

Last weekend the cabin had human occupants who were enjoying the friendship of a family get-together and a few days of R & R.

I figure with the economy and all, the deer where probably glad to stay away for a few days. They can probably use the money from the rental fees when they go back to enjoying their “mostly private” retreat!
